Breathe This In

I was born with compromised lungs.  As a result, I've been on various pills and inhalers since I could walk.  We can speculate all day and night as to why I wound up this way.  This, in fact, is not my point.  My husband was afflicted with his lung disease at a very early age, also.  He also fell into a pool at the age of 3, during one of his mother's many parties, and was in a coma for 3 weeks.  This worsened the lung disease he already had, along with giving him some learning difficulties that he has miraculously overcome.

Here's my bitch.  He works for a company that supplies people with, among other things, oxygen and breathing treatment supplies and meds.  Approximately 98% of his patients are former and current smokers.

My husband and myself have spent all our lives on medications to help us breathe....having done nothing to contribute to it.

The people my husband is forced to deal with are self-induced oxygen/breathing medication users.  I'm floored at how exceedingly rude and pushy these people are when dealing with my husband (who is there to help them).  While he's too polite to point this out, I'd like to take the opportunity to tell these people to realize that THEY did this to themselves.  Getting angry with a company who supplies you with things that help you breathe.....while you CONTINUE TO SMOKE....is just fucking ridiculous.  I want to come to your home/hotel room and smack you until blood comes from your head.

He's just left on another call from yet another thankless prick who needs oxygen because of their cigarette addiction.

It costs my husband and I upwards of 400 a month (after insurance) for our medications just to allow us to breathe.  When we see people like YOU who CAUSED your breathing problems and still continue to smoke...we really just want to stab you.  You're not something to be empathized with.  You are something else all together.  A selfish, self-important prick that expects people like my husband to drop everything to bring you your precious oxygen so that you can keep on smoking.

Your oxygen and breathing meds are wasted on you.  And when I think about how many of you are on public assistance, I want to scream.  You are scum.
