I was reading the comments on the Las Vegas Sun's website regarding a motorcyclist who was killed the other day, and I was really fucking taken aback by the stupidity. The stupidest comments on there were made by (you guessed it) people who have never driven or ridden on a motorcycle in their lives. Some of them even had the audacity to claim that, since riding a bike is so dangerous, WE SHOULDN'T DO IT!!! Pure fucking genius, I'll tell ya'! A comment was made that a bike will 'always lose against a car'. And your point is??? A car will lose to a train.....a train will lose to a plane....a plane will lose to a cruise missile. WHAT IS YOUR FUCKING POINT?????
Let me tell you cagers (for the ignorant, that's 'people who drive cars') a thing or two about what it's like to ride a motorcycle on the streets of Las Vegas (and probably anywhere):
We're constantly having to anticipate YOUR next move because you NEVER use your mirrors....you NEVER signal....and you like to jump in front of us or tailgate us (so much so that we'd get the impression you wanna ride on the backseat). As if that wasn't bad enough, you get ALL FLIPPED OUT when we have a problem with it....and you lean on your horn (Einstein). Well, excuse the fuck out of us.....we're trying not to get killed.
We've got families like you do. I know you'd all like to think we're a bunch of barflies and drug-dealers and otherwise living on the fringes of society. In my opinion, you've been listening to too much Steppenwolf. (Nothing against Steppenwolf, naturally.) We can't be deadbeat losers because (SURPRISE!!!) it costs a lot of money to own and operate a motorcycle. Our insurance premiums are higher because, yes, driving a bike is dangerous....but you know WHY it's dangerous??? I'll give you 3 guesses and 2 don't count.
MOST OF US ALSO OWN CARS!! And we know how to give-way to motorcycles....we do, in our cars, what we hope the REST of you will do (but, of course, won't).
Next time you're out on the road and a motorcyclist is traveling with you....show some fucking respect. Don't make us pull out our pocket of marbles, drive up in front of you and throw them over our shoulders. Tee Hee Hee
